A trained dental hygienist will complete your cleaning, ensuring you are comfortable during the entire process. The hygienist will gently clean and floss your teeth. If you currently have gum disease, some tenderness or bleeding may occur; however, with regular checkups and cleanings at the dentist's office, discomfort can be prevented.
You should visit the dentist every six months, or twice a year. In addition to receiving preventive care at our practice regularly, please don't hesitate to contact us if you are experiencing pain or have a dental emergency. Our dentists and team members will be more than happy to assist you!
Most dental insurance plans allow you to have 100% coverage for basic preventive care, such as checkups and cleanings. For more in-depth periodontal (“deep”) cleaning, your coverage may be anywhere between 50%-80%, depending on the specifics of your plan. Here at our office, we will work with you to confirm your benefits and help you understand your insurance policy so that can get the most out of what you're entitled to.
Our dentists suggest that you come in for a cleaning and checkup every six months. By doing this, we can keep an eye on your oral health and address any issues as soon as they crop up. However, depending on what your mouth needs, you may have to visit more often than every six months.
